Ouch…there goes my collarbone
I was just riding along when I collided with a tree and broke my collarbone, it’s pretty funny actually, here’s what happened if you’re interested:
I was on a nice early morning ride before work on the Yarra Trails. I was smashing down a descent, shouldered a tree, had a head on with a fence post and ended up half way down a 7 metre near-vertical embankment to the Yarra. My bike kept going though, did about 20 cartwheels in the air, bounced on the embankment, and landed in the Yarra. It was floating away so I had to get a big stick and fish it out. All this time my shoulder was killing. Once I got my bike I couldn’t put weight on my shoulder to clamber up the embankment with my bike but luckily another guy came along and helped me out otherwise I would have been stranded. I limped home with one hand on the bars, went to the hospital and my left collar bone is broken!!
It’s shit, I’m cursed, no racing for me (I’ll never get to race the Otway!!) for 4-6 weeks apparently…But i reckon a few weeks and I’ll be able to pedal the roadie. I’ll keep in touch.
That sucks man. At least there is a good story behind it
Last time I checked you had just recovered from another broken collar bone!
Hope your on the mend soon.
Catch ya
